A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum
 

One of North America’s great mineral museums. The A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum has the world’s finest collection of Michigan minerals and the largest collection of minerals from the Great Lakes region on public display. The museum also exhibits outstanding minerals from around the world and has one of the best fluorescent mineral exhibits in the United States. The museum is designated as the official Mineral Museum of Michigan. Experience the splendor and beauty of natural art – minerals.

The museum features the world’s best collection of minerals from the Keweenaw including crystallized native copper, native copper in crystallized calcite, native silver, and datolite. Among specimens on display is arguably the world’s best specimen of crystallized native copper. Greenstone (chlorastrolite), the gemstone of Michigan, and Lake Superior agates are on display. Visit the museum to learn about the geology of the Keweenaw and its minerals.
