Summer 2009 is an exciting time as the Keweenaw Heritage Center will host many community events. Various musical groups will entertain on Musical Mondays in Calumet.

Plan to attend Hear Your Heritage on July 6; This Land is Your Land on July 13. August 17 focuses on Heritage Folk Dance. Join local soloists and groups on August 24 for a Gospel Concert and Hymn Sing. Close out the summer on August 31 by Celebrating Keweenaw’s Musical Roots. All events begin at 7 p.m.

An interesting display of the area's musical heritage is being featured. The restoration of the 1899 Barckhoff Tracker Organ is close to completion. Beautiful music will again fill the air!

The majestic sandstone structure with intricate stained glass windows marks the entrance to downtown Calumet. Restoration of the interior of the former St. Anne's Church continues to enhance the building's beauty. The newly sanded main floor looks magnificent . Each year finds the building closer to its original grandeur.
